Movie news is right now overwhelmed by awards ceremonies. Awards here, awards there, there are awards everywhere. Have you ever heard about the BAFTAs ? It's not a new kind of endangered animal species, it's the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Well, apart from the award for the best film not in English and the two awards for British movies, all the winners were Americans! Apparently America is not just inspiring British foreign policy...

Guess who won the best film of the year award? Yes, it's the one you are thinking about (and about which we are not going to speak further). Everybody knew the results before the ceremony and nobody watched it anyway, so why does that kind of event even exist?

Well, looking at the pictures related to these ceremonies, it's pretty obvious, these events are made to entertain the celebrities. No doubt, they are given hotel rooms, nice suits, fancy golden sculptures, free champagne, private parties, and photographers. Then, when they are all together, they meet, make out, get married, get divorced, and one day when nobody talks about them anymore, they die (their last headline).
