The war has begun

You have to visit the latest weapon of the Motion Picture Association of America. Look at the aesthetic, isn't it like a war video game, or rather the war itself?

In association with Canadian and American movie theater companies, they want to train every employee in order to search and destroy every potential pirate. Once again, you may not think pirating is a crime, maybe it is not a problem. But you might need 500 bucks and that is what you will earn for every pirate busted.

MPAA president Dan Glickman, said, "Theater employees constitute the first line of defence against the growing piracy activity." (Agence France Presse)

If you go and make Bootlegs (as they are called) with your video camera, you may face a fine of up to $250 000. That will make your movie ticket really expensive. But you can also go to jail for up to five years. No movie theaters down there.

Just for the pleasure of the written style, here are some excerpts of the new weapon. Very effective:

How Can I Spot Camcorder Pirates?

Glowing Lights — Most camcorders have red or green lights that blink while recording. Watch for them.

Coats in the Summer — If someone is wearing a long or heavy coat out of season, take a closer look. Camcorders are getting smaller every day.

Suspect Seating Arrangements — Movie thieves try to place themselves in the middle of the theater, and they will often try to shield themselves by having accomplices sit on either side. Please remain alert.

"Friends" of Staff — Look for non-employees coming in and out of the projectionist's booth or arriving at odd hours claiming to be a friend of an employee or manager.

Theater Rentals — Pay attention to individuals who rent the entire theater for a private showing of a new release.

There is no doubts, these guys from the MPAA are really smart.("watch the coat during summer") Here is a suggestion of my own:

The Parrot - Pirates usually have a green parrot on their shoulder. Pay attention to customers shoulders, especially if they are one-eyed and have a wooden leg. Also watch out for any old-school ships in the parking lot.

And if you bust the pirate and you don't know what to do with the $500 reward, you can buy a decent camcorder and become a pirate yourself.
