I Broke my Back on a $10 million Mountain

Apparently, it seems that Brokeback Mountain producers James Schamus and David Linde, made Randy Quaid believe that their movie was a little tiny independent artistic production, and therefore it would be very kind of him if he could lower his usual demand for compensation.

Anyway, here is the law suit, it says that Randy Quaid's "likeness, talent, and name are worth millions of dollars and are solely his property." A low-budget film is defined by the industry guild as a film with a budget that ranges from $500,000 to $7 million. So because the producers made Randy "sacrifice" his normal salary on this "low-budget film," and because Brokeback Mountain actually cost $15 million, Randy Quaid is apparently right!

As a reminder, the movie that made everyone who saw it cry, and everybody who didn't see it laugh, made $160 million since its release a few months ago. (I can't believe it is still possible to make money in this business despite all those pirates on the internet.)

Quaid is asking for $10 million. Huh? $10 million? Why? I am somewhat understanding of his complaints, but $10 million!!!??&é""'& What does he need that much for? Produce low-budget films or maybe he wants to remunerate his "likeness." He should be careful though, because it might no longer become "solely his property." I didn't know who he was before and now I just hate him. Pffffff, $10 million...
