Profile: Dynamic and resourceful, with journalistic and linguistic strengths, I work as easily on independent projects as I can as a diligent and enthusiastic team player.

    Experience
Conde Nast Traveler (Jan. '03 -- present)
I have a variety of responsibilities, from overseeing an extended back-of-book article, to implementing and editing a weekly newsletter, to administrative assistance. Starting as an intern, I was promoted to freelance assistant editor within two months.
Research Assistant for Prof. Rob Boynton (NYU) (May '03 -- present)
During my spare time, I compile bibliographies, book reviews and biographical information for all the literary journalists interviewed in Prof. Boynton's forthcoming "Writers on Writing."
Research Assistant for Prof. Brooke Kroeger (NYU) (Mar. -- May '03)
I proof-read the manuscript, and edited the footnotes and bibliography to Brooke Kroeger's book, "Passing."
USA Today, New York bureau (Sept. -- Dec. '02)
Assignments included an interview with biographer Justin Kaplan that appeared on page 1 of the "Life" section; and research on the story that broke the Augusta Golf Club scandal (my research won a prize). Two freelance book reviews were assigned.
Art and Auction Magazine, New York (May -- Sept. '02)
Fact checking and research dominated my internship, together with small writing assignments. Due to my languages, I communicated regularly with European galleries.
The Villager and Downtown Express newspapers (May -- Sept. '02)
My internship at these two sister local Manhattan papers involved reporting and writing on an array of topics, from politics to baseball. I carved a niche as the local arts reporter.
Research Assistant for Prof. Chris Hedges (NYU) (May -- June '02)
Chris Hedges, Pulitzer prize-winning war reporter for the New York Times, appointed me as his assistant for his acclaimed book, "War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning." I fact checked, copy edited, and helped rewrite the manuscript.
Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins, Paris, France (Sept. '99 - Feb '00)
As a marketing assistant for this international medical publisher, I was responsible for researching articles, organizing sponsorship for reprints, and translation work, all in a French-speaking environment.

    Education
New York University (Aug '01 -- Dec. '02)
M.A. in Journalism (3.97 GPA). Diamond Prize for most dynamic student. Coursework included a neighborhood beat in Brooklyn, and articles on New York's Lebanese community. As part of a special reporting program, I compiled a portfolio of investigative stories on egg donation. I was also the program's graduate assistant.
University of Bristol, United Kingdom (Sept. '97 - June '01)
"1st class" B.A. Joint Honors (equivalent to 4.0 GPA) in French and Italian, with distinctions in both spoken French and spoken Italian. Dissertation in French on the Parisian press; investigative dissertation in Italian on "shopping tourism" in Rome.
