Erica Westly My education and work background is in science, neuroscience to be exact. My entree into journalism began last fall when I started New York University's Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program. As a SHERP student, I have had the opportunity to write about everything from cancer cell biology to global warming. SHERP also has a student-run webzine, scienceline.org. I am a managing editor for scienceline as well as a contributor, so I've been able to learn about science writing from both perspectives. Recent scienceline.org stories include, "No Rest for the Young and Weary," a profile of a New York psychologist who works with children who are terminally ill and "Live Together, Die Alone," which describes a model for cooperation among cancer cells.
