The obvious questions that arises is what should a journalist do when they can’t get solid proof to back up their story? Are speculation and a general acceptance enough to report on? While I understand that the issue of steroid abuse could have been addressed earlier, doing so in vague ways doesn’t do much to support the quality of sports journalism.
Though the suffering of animals is tragic, the point is that journalists are paid to portray the truth, even when the truth is hard to accept.
Corynne Steinler, one of the New York Post’s Page Six newest contributors and former Jossip.com blogger, has turned herself in to a bit of juicy gossip. Radar magazine reported today that Steinler’s plans for a going away party thrown by the Thompson Hotel bar to mark the end of her time at Jossip were thwarted by editors who have grown increasingly sensitive to the codes of journalism ethics in the wake of its own scandal.

The idea of women making more of a presence in ol’boys club of journalism sounds like good news, especially when considering that since the change in diversity is still in it’s early stages, in the future there maybe more women working higher up positions in the industry.
If a federal shield law could protect journalist in situations like this, then they better get on it.
