The Economist Starts Blogging

Megan McArdle, an Economist writer whose personal blog Assymetrical Information is among the best on the Internet, is now going to blog about economics as a staff blogger for the Economist.

I've always found it interesting to read Assymetrical Information because though I'm rather bored when McCardle writes about, for example, bankruptcy reform in the magazine, I'm always engaged by her blog posts on the topic, presumably due to the informal style, shorter length and freedom from the strictures of magazine writing.

Now she'll be posting on a blog that seems as though it will demand formality, and that plans to keep up the Economist tradition of publishing staff writers without bylines, and interesting phenomena for a blog since so much of the attraction is the personality of the blogger.
