It's moments like these that make me treasure modern technology.
While scanning my RSS feed for the latest headlines from the BBC, USA Today and a few others, I came across a barrage of weighty international and national headlines: “Miers Indicates She Supports Banning Most Abortions” from USA Today; “Quake Prompts Dramatic Accord on Kashmir Contacts” from Reuters; “Chile Judge Goes After Pinochet for Embezzlement” from Reuters; “Iran Files Saddam Charges” from the BBC. And then: “Madonna Begged Abba for Sample.” Also from the BBC.
I did a double take. Sure enough, there she was, plugging her crony's jaunt to the Scandanavian heartland.
There’s something strangely gratifying about seeing the words “Madonna” and “Abba” sandwiched between stories about two of the world’s most horrific modern dictators. Maybe it’s the startling lack of categorization in this particular RSS “news” section. Or maybe it’s just Madonna.
