Google has just introduced another new product-- a blog search engine. As with many Google's fancy products, blog searches of course already exist. Sites such as Technorati have been offering this service for a while.
I'd be willing to bet though, that Google's big name will bring the world of blog searching much more mainstream. This begs the question then-- will the world of blogs just become too many voices? Searching blogs based on subject matter allows readers to find a myriad of sources. What is the value of these blogs though? Who can attest to the veracity of this news?
Of course this is the age old question of blogs, and a new blog search doesn't change that. This is a turning point in the blogging community, though. Adding Google's name to any web product makes it immediate news, and I predict search engine will be a great success.
Obviously none of the "problems" of blogs are new. It's just scale that makes a difference here. There are a million ideas out there, and no quality filter. Welcome to the internet, I suppose.
