A Link Rich Harmonic Convergence of Press Ethic Themes

Eric Alterman went on Bloggingheads.TV to talk about numerous topics, among them Bill Clinton's Fox News interview and media bias. He sounds far more reasonable on screen than he does on the page in his book.

Peggy Noonan -- unfairly characterized by Alterman in his book -- has written her latest Wall Street Journal Online column about the media's changing biases over the years, and its changing quality too.

Megan McArdle has an interesting post defending the New York Times coverage on Lebanon against a critic.

YouTube has a dirty George Allen ad that again makes me glad that The New Republic assured that he'll never become president.

And it's always a good time to read what is perhaps my favorite media screed of all time, in which James Lileks defends the honor of the Olive Garden against a Guardian columnist who dared criticize its food.

Finally, I humbly submit that the Western world's most conservative head of state isn't in the United States... nor is its most conservative political party... nor its most impassioned advocates for state funded religious schooling...

I liked the piece you posted on The Olive Garden. Yet there was one point missing in that critique: it's not "real" Italian food. As a third-generation full-blooded Italian, I have yet to meet an Italian who would even comically consider going there for a meal. Even if you do get all the free breadsticks you can eat.

Yeah, I think the Olive Garden is pretty awful -- I can certainly do better in my kitchen than they can do in theirs -- but I love reading that James Lileks essay anyway.
