Pandemic

The point of an October 24th Newsweek article titled “Top-Secret Briefings Short on Top-Secret Info?,” by Mark Hosenball, seems to be merely to criticize and mildly mock the Bush administration. In this article about a secret meeting involving avian flu, citing only anonymous sources and revealing “classified information,” Hosenball says:

But briefing attendees wondered whether the sessions were classified mainly to demonstrate to legislators that the administration was paying attention to the flu issue.

Avian flu should not be made into a political issue. Newsweek jeopardizes its credibility by making it political, especially when they present speculating and quotes from unnamed sources.
