This project is a collaboration of work by Professor Brooke Kroeger's undergraduate Advanced Reporting and Professor Jonathan Lackman's graduate Online Magazine Workshop classes at New York University.

Managing Producer
Courtney Dentch - Courtney is a graduate student at New York University, concentrating in newspaper journalism. She has written for several papers, including the Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal, the Tribeca Trib, and the New York Observer. She hopes to work at a daily metropolitan paper covering important local issues. Check out her webpage for more.

Yael Bizouati - Yael is concentrating in newspaper journalism at NYU's graduate school. She has published in La Depeche in Toulouse, France, as well as the Washington Place Tribune and Manhattan South magazine.

Sarah Bronson - Sarah Bronson is concentrating in newspaper journalism and is a freelance reporter for the New York Observer. She will complete her full-time studies in May 2001. An alumna of Barnard College, she has worked previously as a teacher and as an assistant director of a large non-profit organization. She hopes to work for a consumer magazine or weekly newspaper.

Alex Chughtai-Harvey - Alex is in the magazine concentration at NYU's graduate school, and she has interned for mtv.com and the BBC.

Debra Hirschfield - Debbie is a graduate student at NYU concentrating in newspaper journalism. She has written work for the Michigan Daily, the Washington Square News, and the Washington Place Tribune.

Carol Lee - Carol designed an entire website dedicated to the empowerment of teenage girls. Her primary interests encompass women's and environmental issues, and politics. She has written for teenwire.com, the Horsesmouth, Manhattan South magazine and the Washington Square News.

Churchill Otieno - A reporter with the Daily Nation, Kenya's largest and most influential newspaper, Churchill audited graduate courses in journalism this semester as part of the 2001 Freedom Forum Journalists in Residence program. With five years experience in newspaper journalism, he helped found the West Kenya Press Club and the Health and Environment Media Network.

Kathy Ritchie - Kathy Ritchie is a graduate journalism student at NYU. She has published in the Washington Square News, Manhattan South magazine, and Today's Arizona Woman. She is currently an intern at ABC's 20/20.

Aparna Surendran - Aparna is studying biomedical journalism at NYU's graduate journalism and biology departments.

Elizabeth Varnell - Elizabeth Varnell is a gradutate student at NYU studying magazine journalism. She's a runner who has written on triathletes, marathon runners, and cyclists. She also writes on art and culture for About.com, Dance Magazine, and Manhattan South magazine. She is currently a fashion and design writer and editor at Surface magazine.

Falasten M. Abdeljabbar - Falasten is a newspaper journalism major and a Middle Eastern studies minor, and will graduate in May 2001. Falasten has written for The Jersey Journal and the Washington Square News and hopes to become an international correspondent.

Margarita Berstos - Margarita Bertsos will be entering her senior year at New York University in the fall. She is working toward a B.A. in journalism and a B.A. in sociology. She has completed internships at Gear Magazine, Maxim Magazine, and is currently working at More Magazine. Margarita is eager to begin her career in journalism, exploring the world through many rays of light.

Michael Gorman

Anne-Marie Harold - Anne-Marie is a junior at NYU and has been a journalism major from the beginning. She's followed the magazine track, but because of her work on this article her interest in newspaper journalism has been piqued! She's worked for Maxim, Cosmopolitan, and Flair magazines.

Maya Jex - Maya Jex is a graduating senior at NYU with a degree in individualized studies and a concentration in print journalism. She is an honors student who has completed internships at Paper Magazine and The New York Press. She has spent several years abroad in Israel, Italy and the Czech Republic and hopes to pursue a career in travel writing.

Daniel Mitha

Suzanne Rozdeba - Suzanne Rozdeba is a graduating senior at NYU who is receiving a B.A. in journalism and a B.A. in anthropology. She is a University Honors Scholar and is a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, the national journalism honors society. She completed internships at the New York Daily News in New York City and at the New Presence magazine in the Czech Republic. This summer, she plans on pursuing ethnographic research in Cuba and in Africa. She aspires to become a professional journalist and get a master's degree in politics.

Matt Sedensky - Matt Sedensky, a journalism major at New York University, has covered assignments in five foreign countries, reporting in locales as diverse as Malta, Jordan, and Mauritius. He has had his byline grace the pages of publications from Playboy.com to The New York Times.

Allison Steele - Allison Steele has written for the Kansas City Star, the New York Times, the Baltimore Sun, and the Chestnut Hill Local. She graduates from New York University in 2002.

Sasha Stumacher - Sasha Stumacher is currently a junior at NYU, majoring in journalism and minoring in women's studies. She is concentrating in magazine journalism and hopes that when she graduates next spring she will be able to work at a magazine where she can combine her love of writing with her interest in women's issues.
