THE PERFORMER
Zennie

Zennie Trieu is a 25-year-old actor, writer and director living in New York City.
She’s one of the thousands of New Yorkers that work in the performing arts, an industry that has been decimated by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Early this fall, it was announced that Broadway and New York City’s performing arts world would remain closed until the end of May 2021. This is major news, considering over 97,000 people rely on Broadway to make a living.
As a result, creatives are turning to Zoom and other video conferencing apps to hold performances. As she prepares for one of the biggest jobs of her career so far—a virtual salon, titled “Myth Me in Manhattan” that features three of her plays—Zennie walks us through her process and why her work means so much to her at a time when there is so much uncertainty.
