CNN creates fear

A 5.30pm a press conference was held by Mayor Bloomberg revealing the existence of a threat on the New York City subway was hyped by CNN. Visual images accompanying the press conference made it seem as if a terrorist attack was imminent.

When one state, one organisation, one individual, accuses another of a crime in public, the press have the right to cover it. Shouldn't they also report counter-accusations though, in the name of balance?
