On Saturday, February 24th, select AMC Theatres across the country will offer customers a pass to see all of the films that are nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards, along with unlimited popcorn and drink refills for $30.
The deal may be part of an effort to promote and preserve the experience of going to the movies, but mostly likely it’s just a generous gift to passionate movie go-ers who can bear spend over 12 hours in a movie theatre on a Saturday.
The films to be shown will include Babel, The Queen, The Departed, Letters from Iwo Jima, and Little Miss Sunshine. The variety of films nominated has made it hard for critics to determine a clear favorite. While Babel won Best Motion Picture – Drama at this year’s Golden Globes, Little Miss Sunshine won for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the SAG Awards.
Go and watch the films and make the decision for yourself. The Oscar’s will take place on Sunday February 25th at 8PM on ABC.

None of these films deserve the Best Picture win. Unfortunately, the Oscars are all about politics.
That said, I'd be game for a twelve hour movie session. Sounds like fun!
