Blogger Sentenced to 4 Years for Islam Insult

We've talked about religious bloggers in the past, but what happens when said blog gets you arrested—and possibly up for a death sentence.

Over at BoingBoing ,Xeni Jardin looks at Abdel Kareem Nabil Suleiman, the “first person in Egypt to be jailed for internet-based journalism.”

The charge? “’Inciting hatred of Islam’ and insulting Egyptian President Hosni Murbarak on his blog.”

Sort of frightening to know that religious opinion can get you sent to jail, isn’t it?
