We Want Media

Britney, Anna, and Nowak. What do they all have in common? The have the ability to capture headlines for days on end. Britney Spears chops of her hair and we all of a sudden have in -depth coverage of her antics. Anna Nicole Smith dies in a hotel room, and the court proceedings over who should take possession of her body is run uninterrupted on some news outlets. And we can’t forget our special astronaut. She had her 15 minutes of fame. Sadly, Anna Nicole Smith’s death occurred trumping any further coverage of the astronaut’s psychotic ways. It’s time the media took a hard look at itself and asked, “What are we doing?” Are we student journalist to inherit this form of media? A tear runs down my face.
