ABC Dominates!

ABC World News is on top and CBS executives must be squirming in their seats. I bet zillions of questions are running through their heads: Did we make the right decision to hire Katie Couric for the CBS Evening News? Was she not showing enough legs? Should she dye her hair brown to appeal to older viewers?

Whatever the reason, ABC World News has finished first in both total viewers and in its target audience of 25-to-54-year-olds for the past two weeks. It looks like ABC is headed to wining number one ratings for the month of February. NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams has taken the second place seat leaving many wondering: What will become of Katie Couric and the CBS Evening News?

When Couric was hired to host the evening news, there were hushed criticisms abound in the media field. Would she last? Everyone was happy that a woman would finally be hosting an evening news program, but why Katie Couric? Could CBS executives not have found anyone with a stronger background in hard news journalism?

Well, it looks like all those questions had merit. Katie Couric, beware. Money is one of the driving forces in the media today and if you’re not making it, as Donald Trump says, “You’re fired!”
