Watch Out Women’s Magazines ... Here Comes Nick Denton

Along with his entire Gawker Media empire, Nick Denton is now focusing on a new blog for women, one that, according to Radar, is “’feminist with a small f, not strident or obnoxious, but definitely ladylovin'—but not in that way.”

Way back in November, Radar published an announcement about Denton’s new site and the possible hire of the former Star editor, Geraldine Hayward .

Since then, the plans have changed and Anna Holmes, a former In Style editor has been named the editor of the site.

It’s being sold as Girlie Gawker, but, if you look at the demos for Gawker, it’s already 70% females that read the site.

So, what will it really be? Valleywag, another Gawker Media website, said the new site’s competitor will be Glam, a site I’ve never seen. Glam looks pretty girly, filled with beauty tips and fashion news …not exactly the way I’d imagine a feminist atmosphere. I have a feeling I’m gonna love it. Bring it on, Denton.
