Glamour's "Suze on Style" Talks About Suze on Blogging

Fashion editor and blogger? No wonder Suze Yalof Schwartz, executive fashion editor at large at Glamour, thinks she has the coolest job in the world. Suze is the writer/editor for ”Suze on Style,” one of the six blogs on Glamour’s website, where she writes daily about fashion tips and gives her readers a behind-the-scenes look at the fabulous life of a fashion editor.

One of the most surprising things that Suze has learned from blogging is that she never runs out of things to say.

“Blogging gives me incredible access to everything,” said Suze. “Say I see something or meet someone that I know will not make it into the magazine but I am still inspired by that object or person — I can always put it into the blog.”

When a typo on her blog was picked up by Gawker, traffic to the Glamour site skyrocketed. Suze saw the positive side, though. She explained that the more people who visit Glamour.com, the bigger the chance is that someone will find something they like and buy the magazine. “Hopefully, we added a new subscriber,” said Suze of the Gawker incident.

But what does Suze really love about blogging?

“To take five minutes every day and reflect on what you are actually doing is fantastic," she said.

And when what you’re doing is attending awesome parties, researching the latest fashions, and meeting amazingly fascinating people, you need all the reflection time you can get.
