Baltimore can be just as hip as New York. Just ask Brian Lawrence, the Editor in Chief of Style Magazine. His new blog, Brian Lawrence Live, is devoted to all nightlife things in Baltimore City, from the newest club to the night's Scotch tasting.

This is the first foray into blogging for the magazine, a lifestyle publication focusing on the city and it's arts, events, fashion and personalities. Lawrence's goal for his blog is to post twice a week, which means lots of, hm, we'll call it research.

"Being that it's a nightlife blog, it also surprises me how much I actually go out -- almost every night, though I don't report on everything I do," says Lawrence.

He found it's not as easy as it may seem to transition between editing a magazine and writing a blog.

"Being in the magazine industry where I'm accustomed to having everything thoroughly researched, fact-checked, copy edited and vetted, it's a little disconcerting that it goes out there online in such a raw form," says Lawrence.

"It's only been live for three or four weeks, so I don't have comments coming in yet, and it hasn't been given any marketing push yet," explains Lawrence. The upcoming issues of Style will have ads promoting the blog, however.
