Tom Green Not So In Your Face

Tom Green is back on air and has his very own channel. No, MTV has not agreed to a reunion special, sadly. Instead, Green has launched his own website, complete with a blog, videos, photos, merchandise and his talk show five days a week.

Hosted out of his very own home, the show sometimes runs up to 3.5 hours and reportedly has a 27:8 ratio of funny to stupid, reports an article from the New York Times. However, the launch of this talk show has received much less attention when compared to the hype that surrounded the popularity of the Tom Green Show. Somewhat of a precursor to Jackass, Green actively pushed the human boundary of comfort on his show, but also avidly promoted it from MTV red carpet events (who can forget the coffee machine?) to other TV shows (almost marrying Drew Barrymore on SNL).

But post-testicular cancer and house-fires, Green’s new channel is meant to be more like a background radio show rather than an in-your-face-please-watch-me-I’m-funny comedy sketch. It showcases the option of “Watch While You Surf” to be background entertainment while you occupy yourself otherwise on the web. A far cry from Green’s original intent on MTV, the Tom Green Channel still stays true to Green’s sense of humor, and allows for a bit of nostalgia for those of you who grew up singing along to “My Butt is On Your Face.”
