What Does It Mean to Blog After the First Date?

During South by Southwest this year, bloggers discussed the ethics of blogging and dating at the interactive festival in Austin, reports the London Times. Even while some like Zoe Margolis, who makes a six-figure salary, make a living posting about their love-life, the rules about blogging etiquette and dating are still being decided.

Just like the age-old question, should you kiss on the first date? Active bloggers are now arguing over whether they should post after the first date. Melanie Boyer, author of the blog About Last Night, assures her dates she won’t post about them until after they break up. "Once you dump me you're fair game."

Others, like Alyssa Shelasky, a columnist for Glamour, only promise to post about her datees in a flattering light. The downside to that: "Then you write something that you think is flattering and they take offence and hate your guts."

I’d think if the person is worth dating, like a kiss, a post after the first date won’t keep you from a second.
