Sara Schaefer Muñoz's "Softer, Family-Oriented Version" of the Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal’s Sara Schaefer Muñoz is the lead writer for The Juggle, one of the newspaper’s 12 currently active blogs, in which she discusses juggling work and family.

Schaefer Muñoz’s blog is a bit of a departure for the newspaper, in the sense that the Wall Street Journal is best known for its coverage of the markets and other business-related matters. “I’ve had readers tell me it’s nice to see a softer, family-oriented version of the Journal,” noted Schaefer Muñoz, in a telephone interview. Because of the subject matter, The Juggle has been able to reel in readers to the online side of the Journal that might not have had any interest in exploring the website otherwise.

Since she started writing for The Juggle, Schaefer Muñoz has been most surprised by the open, candid responses that her posts have elicited, and the resulting dialogue that often flourishes between readers. “The responses have been thoughtful, heartfelt and funny,” said Schaefer Muñoz. “It really has surprised me how the blog has grown into a vibrant, lively online community of strangers.”
