All Things Put on Hold Thursday Nights at 9

With more college students halting their Thursday night party plans to spend time with their favorite surgical interns, it seems that local college bars and restaurants are going to continue to suffer due to the growing popularity of "Grey’s Anatomy." According to new research, "Grey's Anatomy" has gained three rating points among the 18-24-year-old demo group, from a 6.0 to a 9.1 since Nielsen started measuring out of home college viewing in January.

But other venues where college students spend their time are also taking a hit at 9 p.m. on Thursdays. A recent post on the Facebook blog mapped a drastic drop in users during the last episode of the three-part storyline that aired several weeks ago where Meredith was magically (or unfortunately) was brought back to life. The post was written by Dustin Moskovitz, a Facebook co-founder, who explained that nearly 150,000 people logged off of Facebook when the show started, and almost 200,000 more users logged on immediately following the show.

Facebook has the most amount of users signed in on Sunday and Monday nights at 10 p.m. No wonder ratings on "The Apprentice" have been so low. Hey Donald, maybe you should broadcast on Facebook.
