I was looking through my local newspaper at home today and saw a blurb mentioning that they're looking for some bloggers. The topics will be restaurant advice, shopping, dating, and parenting.
I think it's a great idea, especially the shopping one. Just like the article that we read early on in the semester about the blogs in small newspapers, these blogs would cover areas that are rarely reported on in the print edition of the newspaper. There's some great shopping in my area, with a lot of "hidden gems," and it would be cool to read about some new ones. It almost makes me wish I still lived at home so that I could blog for them. Almost, but not quite.

I got the same surge of pride when I saw how well my hometown paper, the Greensboro News & Record, has incorporated blogs. It makes it seem like their might be a job for me after graduation after all.
