Fashion Designer ... AND Blogger?

Even though Anna Wintour hates the world blog, it looks like the fashion world is slowly but surely accepting the blogosphere.

This week my boss at Traveler started writing about all things fashion for Conde Nast Traveler’s The Materialist, the fashion crew at JANE has been blogging since before I began interning there, and even the new Portfolio has a fashion blog. (But the writer calls herself a contributor, not a blogger. She’s with Anna.)

Now, it looks like the fashion designers just might get in on the blog world. Zac Posen announced this week that he will begin to blog in order to get feedback from his customers.

I’m waiting to see if he’ll actually be writing his blog or if he’ll find someone to write it for him. I think it would be more interesting if it was more of a photo blog a la The Sartorialist with sneak peeks, but I doubt he’d want to give up any of his ideas before Fashion Week.

Still, it's one more for the blog world…

I'm curious to see what Posen's blog would really be like. The post said, "He said he's doing it because he wants to hear 'people's experiences in our clothing, or with the Christmas barbie. Our woman is so creative, I think it is will be a great forum for people.'" Hmmm... that doesn't really sound like a blog to me. I would like to see him blog about the day-to-day life of a designer. If this is the direction he's going then I'm all for it. However, I don't really care how women "experience" his clothing.
