We Want Media

So Katie Couric is making the move from The Today Show to CBS Evening News. That we've all heard. But is it the right decision? Couric is apparently very well loved (although it seems that maybe it's just her legs that garner all the attention).

So it finally happened. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes finally had their baby. All of the speculation can finally stop. Now it's time for all of the media hype to start.

Tonight, the latest in reality television is debuting on TLC. Honey We're Killing the Kids examines the bad eating habits of children and families across the country. It's complete with the nutritional expert, so-called "hyper and unruly" kids, and even simulations and images of what the kids could be like as adults should the continue their bad habits.

The question of the future of newspapers seems to be constantly coming up, and digital news (and, well, digital everything) could just be thismuch closer to edging out the old-fashioned papers.

We all know that with each generation comes more and more knowledge and interest in technology. My dad still questions his ability to use our stereo at home. My 8-year-old cousin has an iPod.

Remember that crazy Paula Abdul video that features her dancing with a cartoon cat? Well, it seems that in China, no longer will viewers get to enjoy the fun that ensues when people and cartoons interact.

I love my DVR. It's gotten to the point where I don't know how I lived without it. Miss that last line because your roommate was talking? No problem, just rewind!

Oprah Winfrey is slowly but surely taking over the world. She has, over the past two decades of her career, gradually expanded her empire to the point where people idolize her. She has arguably one of the most watched shows on television, multiple magazines, and now you can add a radio program to that list.

Are blogs already becoming a trend of the past? Vlogs appear to be becoming more and more popular, especially since SNL's Lazy Sunday short video spoof that featured comedians Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg rapping about eating cupcakes and catching the matinee of "Chronicles of Narnia."
